The Great Outdoors

Who would have thought that the two Orange County families would pick the most adventurous, athletic, outdoorsy, off the wall and crazy excursions? Well, all I have to say is that WE DID IT! Completing all of the excursions might not have been the easiest thing on earth but we finished. This cruise/adventure was all about handing in our heels for our much needed NIKE tennis shoes, and thank goodness we did because there was no way I was going zip-lining, biking or hiking in my favorite Steve Maddens.

Our first adventure was in Skagway, Alaska (which has a population of like 300) consisted of the most beautiful train ride down the side of a mountain and I'm being 100% serious, it was down the side of a mountain. But most definitely worth it! Then we went to a place where they re-enacted what it was like during the Gold Rush and we got to enjoy some yummy fresh Salmon.

The second adventure was my favorite by far. We got to go zip-lining in Juneau, Alaska's rainforest. Now that's cool if you were to ask me! The zip-line we went on is the second largest right behind the one in Costa Rica. And after swinging from tree to tree, we indulged ourselves in some blueberry tea and s'mores. It doesn't stop there though, because then we went to a huge glacier to search for bears and other awesome things.

The last adventure was in Ketchikan, Alaska and boy oh boy was this one interesting. We signed our lives away on a 9 mile bike ride through the forest/mountains/trails. This was by far the biggest workout of the trip. I swear it was 7 miles up hill and 2 down. However that's besides the point because we all made it back in one piece!
